As we wind down 2024, we’re reflecting on the incredible efforts that have shaped conversations around food security and food systems this year.
While there have been significant strides in school food policy and programming, both here in New Brunswick and across Canada, the growing rates of household food insecurity remain an ever growing challenge that continues to disproportionately affect BIPOC communities, disabled individuals, and single-income households.
Tis' the season of "giving," and while many will turn to supporting local food charities, it’s important, and essential, to recognize that food, and food charity, cannot address the systemic issues at play.
In this edition of our newsletter, we’re unwrapping Food For All's “Holiday Wish Book”; highlighting a number of 2024 food systems and food security related reports and publications. Our biggest holiday wish? That these reports and their actionable recommendations help drive systemic change and build a more equitable and secure food system for all. |
